Anderson Financial Management were proud to sponsor Bungee the Boss, a brand new event organised by Penny Brohn UK this year.
A bunch of anxious bosses, who had been nominated by their employees, bravely stepped out of their comfort zone to take on the challenge. The nervous atmosphere added to the enjoyment and fun of the event as each person stepped into the Bungee basket before being hauled into the sky.
Crowds witnessed 14 companies plummet from the 160ft crane at Bristol’s iconic Lloyds Amphitheatre in April, including Tony Anderson, Simon Stygall and Jess Nixon from Anderson Financial Management.
The support was outstanding and the inaugural Bungee the Boss raised an amazing £14,000.
Tony Anderson, Managed Director at Anderson Financial Management Ltd commented, “The team at Anderson Financial Management all loved being involved in the event, although I think those supporting it were a little more relaxed about proceedings than me and my fellow jumpers! Fortunately, the jump itself was over with before you had time to think too much about the fact you were standing on top of a 160ft crane! However, the most important aspect was raising money and awareness for the great work Penny Brohn UK conduct and we are thrilled to have them as our charity partner for 2016.”
The charity created Bungee the Boss because the first modern jump was off Brunel’s Clifton Suspension Bridge on April 1, 1979 – the same year charity co-founder Penny Brohn was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Jamie Bramhall, Corporate Account Manager at Penny Brohn UK said “We’re proud to be a Bristol charity and knew that bungee was part of the city’s rich history, so started devising something to help bring bungee back to Bristol. We’re delighted that so many businesses embraced Bungee the Boss. It was wonderful – thanks to everyone who supported the day and to Anderson Financial Management for sponsoring the event. We’re already planning 2017 so whatever you think of your manager, it’s a great chance to stitch them up. For those companies that take part it’s the perfect opportunity to raise staff morale, raise your profile and raise money to help Penny Brohn offer life-changing support to people with cancer.”
There are over 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK today and that figure is predicted to be over 4 million by 2030 – more people than ever are going to need our help.
Penny Brohn UK pioneering a Whole Person Approach the cancer care – focusing on each person and their family’s mind, body, spirit and emotions, before, during and after treatment.
Penny Brohn offers FREE adult residential and day courses, one-to-one therapies, groups, a treatment support clinic and national helpline, covering aspects including diet, exercise and managing stress.
Last year the charity helped over 10,000 people and this year they want to help even more. As a donation-led charity we need support from corporate partnerships and donations.
