The Anderson Financial Management team were privileged to be volunteer leaders at The South West Panathlon. Alena, Becky and Tony took a day out of the office and experienced hands-on Panathlon in action. Getting involved as volunteers bought us together as a team and was an enriching way to get involved in our local community.
Alena our Trainee Para-Planner commented “Fantastic experience, unlike anything I’ve ever done before – the whole day was full of sport, games, smiles, and laughter. Would absolutely do it again!”
Becky our Practice Assistant said “It was a really well organised event with an amazing atmosphere, it was great to see the children enjoying themselves and supporting each other.”
Panathlon is a charity that provides sporting opportunities to over 13,000 disabled young people every year. Children with disabilities and special needs came together to take part in ‘mini-Paralympic’ multi-sport competitions and the youngsters absolutely loved it! All teams competed across the traditional Panathlon multisport events of boccia, polybat, new-age kurling, table cricket, field athletics and athletics races. For many of the children it may have been the first opportunity to compete as a team in sport and taking part was rewarding and fun for all involved.
We were pleased to support this charity and be part of this fantastic event, which was sponsored by The St. James's Place Charitable Foundation.
